1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Coompass platform and services, operated by Broadpath, Lda. (“Coompass”, “we”, “our”).
By accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
We may update or amend these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Overview of Services
Coompass is a digital platform that enables companies, employees, and nonprofit organizations to engage in volunteering activities, track social impact, and report on sustainability.
The Platform provides tools for:
employee and partner engagement,
mission and opportunity management,
reporting on social and environmental impact,
collaboration with third-party nonprofit organizations.
3. User Eligibility and Account Registration
Users must be at least 18 years old, or the minimum legal age in their jurisdiction, to create an account.
You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities under your account.
If you access via Single Sign-On (SSO) provided by your employer or organization, your access may be subject to additional terms defined by that organization.
Coompass reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts created with false information or used in violation of these Terms.
4. User Responsibilities
4.1 Account and Conduct
You are responsible for activities under your account.
Accounts are personal and non-transferable.
You must notify Coompass immediately in case of unauthorized access.
4.2 Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Modify, copy, or redistribute Platform content without authorization.
Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code.
Use the Platform for unlawful, harmful, or disruptive purposes.
Introduce viruses, malware, or attempt unauthorized access.
Misuse services for unsolicited marketing, spam, or unauthorized commercial purposes.
5. Intellectual Property
The Platform, its software, design, and content are owned by Coompass (Broadpath, Lda.) or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws.
By posting content (e.g., profiles, missions, comments), you grant Coompass a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use such content solely for the operation and promotion of the Platform.
You retain ownership of your content but are responsible for ensuring it does not infringe third-party rights.
6. Data Protection
Use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Coompass collects only essential information (e.g., name, email, usage logs) to operate the service, in compliance with GDPR.
We do not sell user data or process it for marketing/profiling without consent.
7. Service Availability and Modifications
Coompass aims to provide an uptime of at least 98% monthly, excluding planned maintenance.
We may modify, update, or discontinue services at any time, with or without prior notice.
Users will be notified of material changes affecting service use.
8. Termination and Suspension
Coompass may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the Platform, or as required by law.
Upon termination, your access will be revoked, and your data may be deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
Certain provisions (e.g., intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits) will survive termination.
9. Limitation of Liability
Coompass provides the Platform “as is” and makes no guarantees that it will always function without interruptions or errors.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coompass is not liable for indirect damages (loss of profits, data, goodwill) arising from use of the Platform.
Coompass is not responsible for the accuracy, quality, or relevance of volunteering opportunities published by third-party organizations.
10. Third-Party Content and Links
The Platform may contain links or integrations to third-party websites or services. Coompass is not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of such third parties. Users are advised to review third-party policies before engaging.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by Portuguese law.
Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Lisbon, unless mandatory arbitration applies.
Users waive participation in collective or class actions unless required by applicable law.
12. General Provisions
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Coompass.
If any clause is held invalid, the remaining Terms remain enforceable.
Our failure to enforce a right does not constitute a waiver.
